Introduction#

Good morning! It’s March 16th, 2025, and welcome to “Here’s a Minute”, a short-form podcast with history, fun facts, and a prompt in a minute — or maybe two. I’m Vian Vera.

Historical Fact#

And I’m Lex Wu. The first liquid-fueled rocket took flight on this day in 1926, setting off a key milestone in the race for space. Robert Goddard of Worcester, Massachusetts was a pioneer who worked on trying to achieve space flight until his death in 1945.

Fun Fact#

The first rockets ever make were probably firework rockets.(yaaayyy not a morbid fun fact this time) They were for military, meaning that there was likely some casualties involved. D:

Writing Prompts#

Similar to the situations of Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, you’re currently stuck on the International Space Station. You’re all alone, with nothing to do. You then hear a pipe burst. What, why, and how are all your decisions? You’ve been sent to another planet light years from Earth for data collection. As the first rover to ever reach this planet, write a documentation logging your experiences and discoveries on this world
